Bohemian glass

Bohemian glass is hand-blown by Czech glassblowers from a special composition, which includes not only sand, but also metal oxides, so it is light and crystal clear, just like crystal has reflections in the sun. Different metals are added to the glass to give it a color from red, green to blue and azure, and they also use a new technology to burn different shades on the glass itself.

Variety of Bohemian glass:

With molded smalt: this is a traditional Czech work, after the glasses or vases have been blown out, they are sent to the decoration. At the beginning, the artists paint the object with liquid gold, and then they apply special clay in the form of flowers, after which they are also baked in the oven.

With decals: special stickers are applied to the glass in the form of animals, landscapes, as well as sprinkled with gold - they are called decals. After that, they are also fired at high temperatures, which gives them durability.

With engraving: both hand engraving in the form of flowers, animals and machine engraving, called diarite, are applied to glass - in the form of patterns on the rims of glasses, on decanters and vases. After machine engraving, gold is applied to it to give the decors completeness.

Real glass from the Czech Republic

Now the Czech glass market is dominated by several factories: Crystalex (Bohemia glass), Crystalite bohemia, Egermann, as well as small firms that decorate and blow glass by hand. The fake of Bohemian glass is extremely small, since it does not cost so much money, and if you make the same decors as on the original, it will still not come out cheaper because of the cost of gold and handwork. The glass that is supplied to Russia has factory packaging and stickers, there may also be leaflets in the boxes, small firms supply them in their boxes with initials and stickers.
